Biography
Jenn Wood is a British-American artist working in painting and drawing, exploring how light and colour shape the way she sees the world around her.
Born in New Jersey, she studied illustration and art history at Parsons School of Design, graduating with a BFA in 1994.
She moved to the UK in 2002 and is now based in West Yorkshire, where much of her work is inspired by the surrounding landscape and daily life within it.
Working across pencil, watercolour, pastel and acrylic, her practice often begins with drawings and photographic studies before developing into finished paintings.
Her work reflects a passion for using colour and form to engage with the memory of a place — from Yorkshire hills to scenes observed while travelling.
